The fire alarm control system shall be a modular style Series 2000 as manufactured by WSA Fire Systems

The modular design shall allow for removal of the common control assembly and initiating zone modules without the need to disturb field wiring within the cabinet. The terminal boards where the field wiring is terminated, shall be mounted in a fastening system attached to the back of the cabinet to allow for easy removability of the terminal boards.

The system shall contain a common control assembly, which provides one initiating circuit which can be wired either Class A or B and supports cross listed two wire type detectors; one signal circuit which can be wired either Class A or B providing regulated power for polarized signaling devices; auxiliary power outputs which provide power to external devices; two sets of Form C Supplementary Alarm Contacts; one set of Form C Supplementary Trouble Contacts; Supervised remote annunciator alarm and trouble outputs; normally closed supervisory device input. AC power input shall be protected by a circuit breaker; signal circuit, auxiliary power output and battery charging circuit shall be protected by fuses. The common control assembly shall contain a battery charging circuit to maintain sealed type batteries. LED's shall be provided to annunciate AC power on, Ground Fault trouble, System Trouble, Zone 1 alarm, Zone 1 trouble, Supervisory trouble, Signal Circuit trouble and Battery trouble. Switches shall be provided for Zone 1 disconnect (if appropriate), Test, Reset and Trouble silence. Appropriate modular connectors shall be provided to allow connection to additional modules and to provide supervision of those modules.

Provision shall be made for the addition and supervision of various modules as follows: a dual zone module provides two initiating zones, either Class A or B with individual zone disconnect switches, supervised remote annunciator output for alarm and trouble conditions and will support listed two wire detectors. Eight zone module provides eight Class A or B initiating zones with output for supervised remote annunciation of alarm and trouble conditions. Cross zone module shall be used for chemical agent releasing service and shall work in conjunction with a dual zone module to provide initiating zones with cross zone functions, one signal device circuit, supervised manual release and abort circuits, LED's shall provide annunciation of all module operating conditions. Dual relay module shall provide two Form C contacts per zone for two zones for control of zone related functions. Eight zone relay module shall provide two Form C contacts per zone for two zones of an eight zone module for control of zone related functions. Single relay module shall provide two Form C contacts for zone one alarm related functions. Auxiliary signal circuit module shall provide an additional supervised signal circuit which can be wired Class A or B.

Different size cabinets shall be available to accommodate different size and type zone and control function configurations. There shall be a window in the door that permits visual inspection of all initiating zone modules, all indicating LED's and system control switches. The authorized operator shall be able to access the control switches by opening the locked door with a key. Trim kits shall be available to permit semi-flush mounting of the cabinet. Faceplates shall be installed to provide dead front construction and protect the wiring and internal modules when the door is open. Untilled module positions shall be covered by blank faceplates. There shall be provision for standby batteries to be installed in the bottom of the cabinet. For larger systems, listed fittings shall be available for mechanical protection of wiring to allow inter-connection of two or more cabinets. Cabinet construction shall be cold rolled steel finished in a textured red paint.
